Fran Drescher is known for her wit, uproariously funny characters in TV sitcoms and presence on the screen.

More than all that, however, Fran Drescher is known for her voice. It’s a hard voice to mistake. If you’re a fan of Friends you’ll know exactly how she sounds: her New York accented voice is nasally, whining and instantly annoying. Yet in that annoying quality lays her charm, and she knows it.

But the sheer irritating quality of that voice begs the question: is it fake?
Apparently not. This is no Fran Dresher fake. It’s real. According to Drescher her voice is exactly as it was the day she was born. Though she does play it up a bit in front of the camera, the majority of her work is legitimately her. She took voice lessons to overcome the voice only, in the end, to have her career defined by it.
