Looks like Hollywood has Barack Obama’s back in the next presidential election. Or at least part of it does.

Jamie Foxx, Fran Drescher, Lucy Liu and several other celebrities of varying fame turned out last Thursday to celebrate his potential election to the spot of President of the United States at a swanky party. VIP donors had to pay $2,300 to get into the private home in Beverly Hills.

Once inside they were faced with fine catering, good food and lots and lots of people in black and white. Like penguins only classier. The whole shebang was hosted by Theresa DeBell, who hosted the event with husband Robert Siegel.

Drescher, who’d originally stood staunchly behind Hillary Clinton, swapped sides to Obama after the primaries that saw Obama win the democratic nomination. She noted that she hopes Obama will choose Clinton as his running mate.

The event raised over $200,000, all of which went to Obama’s campaign efforts.

(Ironically, it doesn’t seem that Obama attended the party.)

You’ve gotta start somewhere when it comes to film and television. For Fran Drescher the starting point in television was Summer of Fear; of greater note, however, is the fact that her movie career began in the John Travolta hit Saturday Night Fever.

Drescher gets a fairly small role in her debut as Connie, one of the girls in the discotheque that Tony (John Travolta) frequents. They share a bit of witty back and forth sexual flirting that has become one of the movie’s more memorable quips:

Connie: So, are you as good in bed as you are on that dance floor?
Tony: I’ll tell you something. If YOU’RE as good in bed as YOU are on the dance floor, then you’re one lousy fuck.
Connie: Then how come they always send me flowers the next morning?
Tony: ‘Cause most guys don’t know a good fuck when they’ve had one.

Not Drescher’s most glorified scene, but it was enough to get her cast in more pictures. And, well, that certainly worked out well for her in the end.

We know she’s appeared on the big screen before, but… pornography?

There have been stirrings around the internet lately that Fran Drescher exposed herself in a 1970’s pornographic video, ’starring’ alongside famed adult film star Seka.

Well, she’s around the right age, so that fits. And apparently the woman in the movie is a dead ringer for her, so that fits. Could it be Drescher?

Well, no. Fran Drescher never appeared in any sort of pornographic videos during her career. It seems that another actress by the name of Kandi Barber is the guilty culprit in this case. And though pictures from the movie can’t be shown here for obvious reasons, she doesn’t look THAT much like Drescher.

Unfortunately this has not stopped websites across the net from branding the video as legitimate Drescher sex material. But read my lips, that is not her. Accept no claims to the contrary.

In one of her numerous movie appearances, Fran Drescher is invited to act in the 1990 comedy Cadillac Man, playing a supporting role as a married woman having an affair with the character of Robin Williams, a Brooklyn Car Salesman short on cash and evidently short on luck.

Fran Drescher’s character only adds to the chaos and complication of Robin Williams’ character, who is divorced from his wife, has a daughter who is MIA, is on a two day deadline to sell 12 cars or lose his job, has an outstanding loan to a local mob boss who is determined to collect, and to top it off is also having relations with another unmarried woman in addition to the woman played by Fran Drescher. With her unique wit, charm, and trademark Brooklyn accent, Drescher is able to deliver a performance that is perfectly suited to her role in this comedy film.

In the case of Fran Drescher, TV actress and all around funny woman with an annoying actress, the dog’s name is Esther. And boy is it an odd looking creature.

Little Esther is a chocolate Pomeranian with an unassuming face that makes it look, as one website put it, a bit like an Ewok from Star Wars. Esther is a regular on Fran Drescher’s Living With Fran sitcom show, and can often be found with Drescher parading up the red carpet at gala events.

Esther is actually a stand in for Chester, Drescher’s old Pomeranian who died in 2000. Chester appeared with Drescher on The Nanny several times, among a slew of other Hollywood TV credits.

Now, if only she’d get a dog whose name doesn’t rhyme with her own…

Fran Drescher is a comedian and actress known for her unique comedy style and nasally voice. It was that voice that helped define her in an industry that normally shuns such ‘imperfect’ parts of a person: you would not have Fran Drescher without her characteristic voice.

And, as with any popular star, Drescher was inevitably featured in an episode of Family Guy. Her voice was done by Lois Griffin actress Alex Borstein. In the episode ( entitled ‘Fifteen Minutes of Shame’) the Griffin family is taken over as a reality TV show. In the course of the episode, however, daughter Meg is replaced with a more “sexy” daughter, and eventually her departure prompts the rest of the family to follow suit. They are subsequently replaced by an all-star cast, including Fran Drescher playing the part of Lois.

Drescher reappears again in a season 5 episode, though her head is promptly exploded by Peter.
